Power In Our Voices is a collaborative event dedicated to defining what “having your own voice” truly means. This gathering brings together a community of individuals with disabilities, their families, and advocates to explore communication through various lenses, including spoken words, behavior, body language, and assistive technology.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to:
-
Hear from parents about navigating diagnoses, overcoming isolation, and building advocacy skills over time.
-
Listen to young advocates share stories of self-discovery and advice for those just starting their own advocacy journey.
-
Gain wisdom from experienced advocates regarding the lessons they have learned.
-
Engage directly with elected officials who will be in attendance to listen to the community, learn from these stories, and discuss how they can help move advocacy priorities forward.
